What Is the Lululemon Return Policy?

At first glance, the Lululemon return policy is pretty straightforward. You have 30 days from the date of purchase, or delivery date for online orders, to return your items for a full refund. There are a few caveats though:

  • Lululemon provides refunds to the original payment method — cash, credit card, debit card or gift card.
  • Returns are free of charge.

Although the policy seems quite simple, there are a few things to consider. For example, you may be able to return items after 30 days depending on why and how you return them. Moreover, although Lululemon advertises free returns, you may have to pay shipping fees for your return under certain circumstances.

Can I Return Items Without a Receipt?

You’ll need proof of purchase to return any item to Lululemon. If you purchased the item in one of the company’s stores, you’ll need a receipt to process your return. If you bought the item online, you’ll need to package the original purchase order with your return as proof of purchase. Either form of receipt will work, and you can show your purchase order form if you’re bringing an online purchase into a store for a refund.

Lululemon Like New Returns

Lululemon doesn’t just sell new items. It also has a Like New website that sells gently used gear at a discount. Most of the rules surrounding Like New returns and exchanges are similar to the company’s standard return policy. The only difference to note is the cost of return. 

Lululemon charges a flat-rate shipping fee of $7.50 for all Like New return shipments. You can return as many items as you’d like in the same box, and the company deducts the shipping fee from your total refund amount. 

How To Return Your Items

It’s easy to return products to Lululemon. Here’s how it’s done:

  • In-store: Bring the item you’d like to return to your local Lululemon location with your receipt within 30 days for a full refund.
  • Online: Log into your Lululemon account. Select the item you’d like to return and print the shipping label. Next, package your item and ship the package using the shipping carrier chosen by Lululemon.

What Is a Lululemon Performance Return?

If you’ve had a Lululemon item for more than 30 days and you want to return it, you may not be completely out of luck. The company has a long-term quality promise. That promise stipulates: “If the quality of a product diminishes, leading to performance issues, Lululemon will take the product back and provide a refund as long as the performance issues happen within a practical product lifetime.” That is, if the company’s review of the item suggests it didn’t perform as it should have, Lululemon will send you a full refund.

Unfortunately, Lululemon doesn’t offer details on what the practical lifetime of a product might be, but if your running shoes usually last you eight months, and your Lululemon shoes only last you four, it may be worth trying a Performance Return. This policy will accept returns within reason — if you’ve had a product for three months and it is falling apart, it may be accepted as a return. However, if you’ve had an item for a year and want to take it back, this policy will probably not give you your money back.

Customers may have to wait for Performance Returns as the company has temporarily paused these requests due to high volumes after the 2022 holiday season. 

Does Lululemon Inspect Returns?

Lululemon inspects all returns it receives to ensure that the return complies with its policy. Chances are that the company’s inspections are looking for hangtags and signs of wash and wear. Although the company doesn’t share information on how it inspects shoe returns, it’s safe to assume that if the shoes you return have excessive wear, the company will reject the return.
