Although the Cash App platform charges some fees for miscellaneous services, such as instant deposit and ATM withdrawals, you can send and receive money, stocks and bitcoin for free.

What’s more, Cash App gives you several ways to earn free money through a sign-up bonus or referral, Cash Card Boosts, and sweepstakes and giveaways. Here’s a look at options that are available.

1. Earn a Bonus When You Sign Up

When you first join Cash App after receiving a referral from a friend, you can earn a bonus. Make sure you have your friend’s referral code to get the cash bonus. You will also need to link a debit card to your Cash App account and complete a transaction of at least $5 within two weeks of entering the referral code.

2. Refer Friends

You can get free money on Cash App by referring friends to join the app, as soon as you create your account. You can earn cash for every new user who joins the app using your referral code, links a debit card to their Cash App account and sends $5 within two weeks of entering your referral code. Tap on the profile icon from the home screen of the app and then tap on the “Invite Friends” button to get started.

You can refer friends to Cash App in three ways:

  • Send an invite through your contact list.
  • Enter your friend’s phone number, and the app sends a text with the invite to your friend.
  • Submit your friend’s email address, and Cash App will send them an email about joining the platform.

3. Use Cash Card Boosts To Save Money With Cash App

To easily save money with Cash App, you can obtain a Cash Card — Cash App’s free Visa debit card — and activate Boosts from the app. You will then get discounts at participating merchants, such as retailers, restaurants and coffee shops. Cash App notes that you can only have one active Boost at any given time, but you can change Boosts anytime you’d like to do so.

4. Enter Sweepstakes and Giveaways

Cash App occasionally sponsors sweepstakes and giveaways. In a recent one, users had to reply to a social media post with a special hashtag and their cashtag. Over 30,000 winners received $10 to $20 in stock, bitcoin or U.S. dollars.

5. Bitcoin Boost

You also can get free money on Cash App when you activate a Bitcoin Boost and make a qualifying purchase using a Cash Card. The money you earn is in the form of bitcoin, which you can convert into cash by selling.

6. Get ATM Fees Waived

Cash App charges a $2.50 fee for each withdrawal you make from an ATM. But when you receive $300 worth of direct deposits into your account, you get unlimited free withdrawals at all network ATMs and one free withdrawal from a non-network ATM every 31 days. Even if you only withdraw money once a week, it’s like getting $10 in free money each and every month.
