The base plan with ads is priced at $4.99 per month and includes live-streamed local NFL games on CBS. Subscribers who prefer an ad-free streaming experience can pay $9.99 monthly for the Premium plan. With this plan, customers can also download programs to view offline. Annual paying customers are billed only $4.17 per month for the Essential package and $8.33 for the Premium option. Subscribers can also change or cancel plans anytime, and new subscribers can choose a free trial for seven days.

How To Sign Up for Paramount Plus

There are three steps in subscribing to the Paramount Plus Essential or Premium plans:

  • On the Paramount Plus website, navigate to the Pick Your Plan page.
  • Select the Essential or the Premium Plan. Be sure to choose your payment frequency — either monthly or annual.
  • Create an account. Enter some personal information such as your full name, email, zip code, etc.

Creating an account allows Paramount Plus to show subscribers recommendations based on personal preferences. They can also pick up watching a show from where they left off on any supported device.

Here are a few ways to cut your monthly subscription cost with Paramount Plus:

  • Rakuten: If you have an account with Rakuten, you can get up to $4.50 cash back for signing up for one of the Paramount Plus streaming service plans. All you have to do is activate the offer on your browser extension or go to Rakuten’s website to accept and activate the offer.

  • Student discount: Students can get a 25% discount on a Paramount Plus subscription. Verify your student credentials by providing your name, email address, birth date and university name. Only college or university students currently enrolled at an accredited, Title IV or higher educational institution are eligible for the 25% discount.

  • T-Mobile: Through Feb. 28, 2023, T-Mobile is offering eligible T-Mobile and Sprint wireless customers a free one-year “Paramount Plus On Us” Essential monthly plan. This offer does not include the Showtime bundle. Existing Paramount Plus subscribers on a different plan from Essential can find instructions on redeeming the T-Mobile offer on the Paramount Plus website.

Can You Bundle With Paramount Plus?

Subscribers can currently bundle Paramount Plus with Showtime at $11.99 per month. Showtime offers original hit movies, sports, series and documentaries. You can bundle Showtime with your Paramount Plus subscription when you sign up. 

Can I Switch My Paramount Plus Plan?

Switching Paramount Plus plans is relatively easy and can be done by logging into your account and selecting “Change Your Plan.” But keep in mind, if you switch during a free trial, you’ll be billed immediately and forfeit the remaining trial time.

How Can I Cancel My Paramount Plus Subscription?

The steps for canceling a Paramount Plus subscription will vary by platform. For example, to cancel on an Android device:

  • Go to g.co/play/subscriptions.
  • Select the subscription to be canceled.
  • Select “Cancel subscription.”
  • Follow the prompts to cancel.

Is it worth getting Paramount Plus? A Paramount Plus Essential plan will cost you about $50 a year, while the Premium Plan will set you back about $100 a year. If you’re looking to save money on entertainment costs, Paramount Plus might be a good alternative to cable TV.

Paramount Plus fares well over other popular streaming services like Hulu, Netflix and Disney Plus. The starting monthly price for each of these services is approximately $7, $10 and $8, respectively.
