USPS isn’t the only option for package deliveries. While USPS does deliver on New Year’s Eve, keep in mind that there will be no UPS ground delivery or pick-up. The actual UPS stores are open, so customers can still use their services and drop off packages on this date. However, it’s likely that packages dropped off at UPS store locations will be delayed because UPS locations are closed, and all regular services are stopped on New Year’s Day. FedEx , like UPS, has modified delivery options on New Year’s Eve and will be closed on New Year’s Day.

  • Ship early: The best way to save on shipping costs is to get to the post office early. Choose a date that will be convenient to get to the post office and place a reminder somewhere you’ll see every day.
